Siftree Research vs Condens: research knowledge and product handoff
Compare Siftree Research and Condens for research repositories, AI-assisted analysis, traceable evidence, repeatable coding, and the handoff to product issues.
The short answer
Should you choose Siftree Research or Condens for research analysis?
Prioritize Condens when you want a research repository and analysis environment where teams organize evidence, work across projects, and share customer knowledge. Consider Siftree Research when the immediate task is coding interviews and calls against your codebook and attaching supporting evidence to Linear or Jira issues. Both use AI and traceable sources. Decide whether the main investment is the research workspace, the recurring evidence handoff, or both.
Condens combines human coding with AI-assisted evidence search
Condens' session-analysis documentation supports questions over sessions, evidence-linked answers, and suggested highlights and tags. AI tag suggestions are not applied until a person confirms them. This gives researchers direct control over coding, while retaining review work. It is not a manual storage folder.
Siftree Research applies your codebook to interviews and calls and carries timestamped supporting evidence into Linear or Jira. Our assessment is that the choice is between emphasizing a shared analysis/repository environment and an operated recurring coding-to-issue process. Both can preserve evidence.
Decide what a stakeholder should be able to search
Condens' repository-search guide distinguishes Sessions, Highlights, and Published Artifacts and allows filtering by context such as project, tag, and date. It also describes access to the Insights Magazine through MCP. A search across published findings is not the same exposure as searching every raw interview.
| Decision | Siftree Research | Condens |
|---|---|---|
| Repeat structure | Supplied codebook across selected recordings | Tags, highlights and saved AI questions |
| Human control | Review classifications and evidence | Confirm suggested tags before application |
| Stakeholder output | Evidence on the matching product issue | Published artifacts and repository discovery |
| Maintenance | Code versions, segment fields and issue matching | Taxonomy, publication scope and research access |
Define which audience may see raw participant material and which should receive reviewed findings. Assign owners for taxonomy edits and outdated artifacts. A citation that a stakeholder cannot access needs a usable, appropriately scoped handoff.
Proposed evaluation: two studies disagree
Choose real studies with overlapping questions but different segments and dates. Add contradictory findings, a reused participant, and an ambiguous quote. A researcher should prepare the interpretation and code definitions before seeing automated output. This is a proposed test.
Compare source coverage and meaning-changing transcription errors first. Then inspect tag consistency, multi-topic passages, and evidence omitted from summaries. Require the report to distinguish participant counts from quote counts and to retain segment and study context.
Ask a stakeholder to find an earlier finding and determine whether it applies to the current roadmap issue. For Siftree, inspect the actual evidence attachment and match to the right issue. For Condens, inspect the published artifact and permitted source context. Change a tag definition and require an explanation of affected history. Set acceptable important-code disagreement, missing counterexamples, broken access paths, and review effort in advance.
Access and search allowances change the quote
At the October 20, 2026 check, Condens pricing lists Lite from €15/month for one contributor and Business from €500/month paid yearly, including five contributors and unlimited viewers with broader repository features. These scopes are not interchangeable. The session guide also specifies plan- and role-dependent AI search allowances. Request current terms for your contributor/viewer mix, search scope, transcription, retention, integrations and anonymization requirements.
Choose Condens when researchers and stakeholders need that shared evidence environment. Evaluate Siftree when the operational bottleneck is repeated codebook application and issue evidence maintenance. Obtain Siftree private-beta terms for equivalent source volume and actions. No total-cost or qualitative-accuracy advantage is established.
